Sugar beets lend their natural sucrose to several ingredients within our collection. Fermented beet sugar is used to produce hyaluronic acid, sodium stearoyl lactylate, xanthan gum and a key element in our surfactant blend that provides PURIFY and SCRUB with its delicate foam.

Interestingly while eating sugar is bad for the skin, as increased insulin levels can trigger breakouts, beet sugar lactylates are beneficial to the skin. They enhance moisture retention and the delivery of actives. In fact, when clinically tested, it was shown that small amounts of lactylate deposited on the skin after use performed moisturizing functions even six weeks after wear and wash.

This further helps explain why our skin feels so wonderfully soft after use of ACTIVATE, PURIFY and SCRUB.
