"Finally, a product that actually works on my dark under eye circles! … I do believe I will finally be omitting concealer from my daily routine” - Carol B.
Collagen degradation, photo-exposure, environmental pollutants, allergies, exhaustion, even blinking and smiling can affect the sensitive skin around the eyes. Some of us are more genetically predisposed to dark circles and puffy eyes, and all of us will experience a change in the eye area with age. For this most delicate tissue, we have made REVIVE eye emulsion for you!
The skin around the eyes is ten times thinner than the skin on the rest of the face. As we age, the collagen responsible for upholding the integrity of our skin begins to break down causing the skin to sag. Continual tugging, pulling and loss of elasticity eventually cause the skin to lose its elasticity.
Dark circles are certainly one of the most undesirable effects of environmental stress on the periorbital area. These darkened areas can be caused by an increase in pigmentation due to alterations in melanogenesis from UV radiation. Darkening can also be caused by the leaking of blood.
To combat environmental factors and support healthy capillaries and collagen production, we have included green tea extract in our formulation. Green tea is rich in proanthocyanidins, which can help increase capillary strength, while playing a role in the stabilization of collagen and elastin’s structural support. By combining these skin toning and strengthening ingredients with increased circulation from caffeine, REVIVE eye emulsion can help diminish the signs of aging, specifically, the appearance of bags and dark circles under the eyes.
Extracts of green tea also contain polyphenols such as catechin, gallogatechin, epicatechin, epigallocatechin, epicatechingallate and epigallocatechgallate (EGCG). The antioxidant activity attributed to these polyphenols includes scavenging of the superoxide anion, hydroxyl and peroxyl radicals and the inhibition of lipid peroxidation and oxidation of low-density lipoproteins.
