Spotlight: Nutritionist Paola Atlason

In the world of wellness and holistic living, some journeys begin with a profound need for change. Paola Atlason's path was born from such a moment—a time in her thirties when she felt utterly lost, physically exhausted, and mentally drained. Traditional medical advice offered little solace, so Paola took matters into her own hands, diving deep into the study of Holistic Health and Nutrition. Her transformation ignited a passion to share this newfound wisdom with others, leading her to become a holistic nutritionist and nourishment teacher. In this interview, Paola opens up about the experiences that shaped her approach to wellness, the principles that guide her practice, and the simple yet powerful habits she advocates for a balanced life.

Paola, tell us about yourself. What inspired your journey int wellness ad holistic living, ultimately leading you to become a wholistic nutritionist and nourishment teacher?

In my thirties I felt really lost, my physical heath and mindset were completely burned out. After consulting with several medical practitioners and not getting any answers, I decided to take my health into my own hands, and returned to school to study Holistic Health and Nutrition. Once I understood how to support myself I wanted to share it with the world!

Can you share a pivotal moment or experience that solidified your commitment to wellness coaching?

When I understood that food is medicine, the foundation, but it’s not all just about the food. How we breathe, move, sleep and our daily habits have a greater impact in our wellbeing - and that’s what I like to focus on.

What are the core principles that guide Paola Atlason Wellness?

 Simplicity, joy beauty, integrity, ease.

What does the “food-as-medicine” approach embody?

It invites us to look at food with reverence, and to be discerning in what we choose to put in our bodies, with the understanding of course that it’s better to “eat a happy donut, than a sad salad”.

How do you approach the concept of balance in your own life and when coaching others?

By leaving time in between my to-do’s to honor the transition from going from one thing to the next. Even on the busiest days I make sure I have a moment to check-in with myself before moving on. It’s changed my life!

What common misconceptions do people have about wellness and holistic living?

That things have to be “clean” or “good”. The moment we label we create polarity, which brings guilt and shame when we don’t do things “perfectly”. There’s no right or wrong, there’s what serves YOU best - or not.

What are some simple yet effective daily habits you recommend for someone starting their wellness journey?

Simplify! We tend to add more rather than take away, which leads to overwhelm. Keep your daily rituals simple and cozy, like that favorite old sweater you can live in.

How do you tailor wellness plans to fit the individual needs of your clients?

By always remembering that I’m working with a unique individual and their whole life story - not just a list of symptoms. We don’t need “fixing”, we need understanding, listening, and compassion.

How do you stay updated with the latest trends and research in the wellness industry?

I have teachers, friends and colleagues who I trust (including Jenna!), and avoid anything making too much noise on social media, or opinion based commentary. Science is science, energy is energy, fluff is fluff.

What role do technology and social media play in your business and client engagement?

I have a love-hate relationship with social media as many of us do. Yes it can be distracting, but I’ve made beautiful connections and have build long lasting friendships born in these spaces. It allows us to connect based on our interests and what we care about. My community is online, I work with women across the world and it’s a beautiful thing seeing them come together because they feel the same, and want to feel better in simple and sustainable ways.

What are your long-term goals for Paola Atlason Wellness?

I want to help thousands of women in their own healing, and in awakening to their bodies, so they can pass on this knowledge to their loved ones, to permanently change where we’ve been regarding women’s health and wellbeing for too long. I’m in the process of writing my first book, and would love to travel and share. I’ve also had a dream from the moment I started this chapter in my life to create a physical gathering space where you could come for services, events, or just to chill - stay tuned!

How do you incorporate LINNÉ products into your own wellness routine?

The Purify cleaning mask, and Balance oil are heaven sent! These formulas are beautiful and effective, my skin has completely cleared and glows. They’ve become my non-negotiable.

What advice would you give to someone looking to integrate natural skincare products into their wellness regimen?

Look for brands aligned with integrity, with full transparency to how their product is made, and who creates and makes it. That’s why I love LINNÉ, Jenna is truly unique in her approach to her formulations and sustainability of her line.

How do you see the role of skincare in the broader context of holistic health and wellness?

Our skin is our largest organ, we literally eat and breathe through it, so you may as well lather on ingredients you wouldn’t be afraid of consuming!

We would love for you to share your favorite summer recipe with the LINNÉ community!

My go-to breakfast is my Goddess Smoothie. I tend to switch up the recipe seasonally, and for summer The Naked Goddess is my fave!

*All veg fresh, washed and unpeeled (except for the ginger and lemon)

2 stalks celery, 1/4 carrot, 1/4 beet, 1/2" peeled chunk of ginger, 1 handful of spinach, 1 handful of parsley, 1 handful of blueberries and 1 of strawberries, 1 whole lemon peeled and pitted, 1 scoop of unflavored collagen, 1tbs good olive oil, a pinch of salt, a dash of stevia, water to almost cover everything in your blender but not too much, 2 ice cubes. Blitz and enjoy!
