EDIBLE FLOWERS

"To eat a lotus" is a phrase used metaphorically by numerous ancient writers to mean “to forget,” or “to be unmindful" and is in reference to the tribe of Lotus-Eaters in Homer's Odyssey. Our practices rather represent the opposite of apathy: we eat and anoint our bodies with flowers and plants precisely because we are mindful.

Here our founder is munching on a spicy nasturtium flower. They are great in salads and straight from the farm stand ;) Are you a flower eater? Some favorites include fennel, pea, runner bean, chive, nasturtium, and cilantro! Flowers add not only visual appeal but nutritional benefits through the powerful volatile compounds found in these lovely petals.
