Ingredient IQ: Rose Hip

Rose hips, the bright seed pods of wild roses, are exceptionally nutrient dense. Their seeds yield oil rich in omegas 3, 6, and 9, which strengthen the skin barrier, lock in moisture, and support repair. In our REPAIR Face Oil, we use cold pressed virgin organic rose hip seed oil, a method that preserves its nutrients, gorgeous red color, and potency. At LINNÉ, we source our rose hips from Chile and Denmark, regions known for producing exceptional quality rose hip oils.

That vibrant hue signals the presence of lycopene and beta carotene, antioxidants that protect against free radical damage and premature aging. Rose hip oil also contains trans retinoic acid, a natural form of vitamin A known to improve acne, smooth fine lines, and support recovery from photoaging. It delivers the benefits of retinoids in a gentle, plant based form.

Beyond skincare, rose hips are one of the richest plant sources of vitamin C. Traditionally used to support immunity and reduce inflammation, they are still enjoyed today in teas, jams, vinegars, cordials, and compotes. Research also links rose hip extracts to joint health, underscoring their deep medicinal value.

With their rare combination of essential fatty acids, natural vitamin A, and antioxidants, rose hips are both a food and skincare treasure, nourishing the body from the inside out.
