Zinc oxide is a mineral sunscreen that forms a barrier on the skin's surface, reflecting the sun's rays. In contrast, chemical sunscreens like oxybenzone, avobenzone, and octinoxate absorb into the skin and bloodstream, converting UV rays into heat.
We believe zinc oxide is the safest and most effective active sunscreen ingredient. It offers true broad-spectrum protection against UVA, UVB, and even UVC rays. UVB rays are linked to DNA damage and skin cancer, while UVA rays cause photo-aging. Without broad-spectrum labeling, sunscreens only protect against UVB.
