SEABUCKTHORN

by Jenna Levine

Hippophae Rhamnoides (SEABUCKTHORN) berry oil possesses an extremely high concentration of nutrients, minerals, vitamins, and antioxidants, including flavonoids, phenolics, amino acids, and carotenoids, which all are integral to maintaining healthy, youthful and radiant skin. It is particularly rich in Vitamin C, a mineral that is crucial for collagen production. Seabuckthorn berry oil is therefore very effective in repairing damaged skin and maintaining elasticity. Furthermore it’s potent antioxidant composition helps to neutralize dna-damaging free radicals, thus protecting the skin and helping to diminish age spots and wrinkles. And that’s why we include it in our REPAIR face oil!

Seabuckthorn berry is also edible and is used to soothe gastrointestinal issues, lower blood pressure, improve vision, slow the aging process, boost immune system functioning, and even to prevent certain cancers. You can use the berries in oil form, as a pressed juice, dried or fresh/frozen, as seen here. We regularly include the fresh berries in our smoothies and the dried berries in braised and grain dishes.
